Going Vegan: 10 Reasons Why It Rocks To Be Vegan | DeeFNP TV

Going Vegan was one of the scariest moment of my adult life. Meat was a part of who I was. Could I live without meat? It was a cold wintry morning when I decided to get on my bathroom scale and that was my breaking point. I knew I had to get control over my eating and that was the day a new me was born.

I have been on this Vegan journey since January and I am loving it. There are 10 reasons why it rocks to be Vegan:

1. Saving the planet that we live on: reducing the spread of viruses between humans and animals.

2. Animal lives matter: by going Vegan we are sparing the senseless killings of animals. In my heart, I believe no living creature should ever be exploited.

3. Lowering the rate of heart disease: Vegans are consuming more frequent intake of fruits, vegetables, grains, and nuts which in turns increases ones daily fiber intake and antioxidants.

4. Decreasing the risk of certain cancers: researchers believe by avoiding dairy products can reduce the risk of prostate cancer in men. You can reduce your risk of colon and rectum cancer by avoiding red and processed meats. It was found that women with a history of breast cancer should consume soy products to reduce the recurrent of breast cancer. Just eating a plant-based diet can reduce other types of cancer that were not mentioned above.

5. Salmonella poisoning: as a Vegan, you do not have to worry about cross contaminating your chicken and vegetables any longer so your stress level is decreased tremendously.

6. No more spending another penny on Metamucil: because a plant-based diet is high in fiber.

7. New found community: there are several Vegan blogs you can follow, awesome YouTube channels featuring some amazing Vegan recipes, and the forums are excellent just a bunch of wonderful support in the Vegan community. I’m the only Vegan in my family so I turn to these platforms in order, to gain the needed support regarding my Vegan journey.

8. Cheaper: have you guys seen the prices on some of these meat items. On my recent trip to the grocery store I priced two steaks at 30.00 and my Vegan grocery hauls I spend 40.00 for a week worth of food. Being Vegan continues to ROCK.

9. Weight loss: since going Vegan I have lost over 30 pounds.

10. Increased energy level: I have amazing energy I can bust out an hour gym session without a problem. When I ate meat I needed a nap not the gym. Being Vegan truly ROCKS.

Vegan Weight Loss & Non Vegan Weight Loss Tips

Hi I’m Dee,

Do you have clothes in your closet that you want to fit in again or fit for the every first time? I will be sharing 10 tips that helped me to lose 30 pounds and I hope to help someone like you how to loss weight as a Vegan and a Non Vegan. Remember everyday is another chance to make your dreams come true. Let’s get started

1. You need to determine what’s your healthy Body Mass Index (BMI) range and ideal weight for someone your age, height and weight. There are online calculators for adults, children, and teens. If you’re not in the underweight or normal categories move on to my next tip.

2. Now it’s time for you to set your weight lost goals. Losing 20 pounds in 10 days isn’t really realistic so please set realistic goals.

3. Track every bit of food and drink that goes into your mouth because you’ll begin to eat less, you’ll start seeing results, now you can button some old jeans you had, and you can enjoy your favorite foods without feeling guilty.

4. To loss 1 pound a week you will need to decrease your daily calories intake by 500 calories. When it comes to lowering your calories intake I wouldn’t recommend going below 1,000 calories a day.

5. Know your food pyramid Vegan and Non Vegan so
you will know your dietary guidance.

6. Increase your daily protein intake. Proteins are the main building blocks of our body. Proteins are used to make muscles, tendons, organs, and skin just to name a few functions of protein regarding our body. On my weight loss journey I used the macronutrient zone diet 40 % protein, 30% carbs, and 30% healthy fats.

7. Making sure you get 8-12 cups of water a day but my goal for you is to get up to a gallon of water a day. I can image how some of your faces are right now like this girl is crazy if she thinks I’m going to drink that much water because I don’t like water. Water can help control calories, energize your muscles, helps with maintaining normal bowel function as well as having beautiful skin: point to my face so it’s important to drink up.

8. Exercise-our bodies was meant to move right because we aren’t show a picture of different statues. It reduces the risks of cancer, high blood pressure, heart disease, and other diseases. Do whatever you can we you’re first starting out if you only can to 10 minutes that’s fine until you can work your way up to at least 20-30 minutes 4-5 times a week.

9. Decreasing or eliminating stress because high levels off cortisol will cause overeating. High level of cortisol increases causes an increase in insulin levels, so your blood sugar drops and you crave those bad fatty and sugary foods.

10. Get enough sleep because less than seven hours of sleep per night can reduce or undo the benefits of your diet so get some ZZZZZ.
